COURSE INTRODUCTION

This programme introduces Reliability Centred Maintenance as a structured method for building risk-based maintenance strategies. Participants learn to select critical systems, define functions and failures, analyse failure modes and consequences, and choose technically feasible maintenance tasks that protect reliability while controlling lifecycle cost. Practical examples and guided discussion help participants connect the subject to decisions and challenges in their own workplace.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this programme, participants should be able to:
- Explain the core concepts, terminology and working principles related to Reliability Centered Maintenance.
- Apply structured methods and industry good practices for Phase 1, Introduction to Maintenance and Overview, and RCM Terminology (What makes RCM different).
- Evaluate relevant mechanical & maintenance situations and identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Translate the learning into practical workplace actions and sound technical decisions.

COURSE OUTCOME

Upon completion, participants will be better prepared to:
- Assess relevant workplace situations using the concepts and methods covered in Reliability Centered Maintenance.
- Select and apply appropriate tools, checks or controls for Phase 1, Introduction to Maintenance and Overview, and RCM Terminology (What makes RCM different).
- Recommend actions that support equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness and operational performance.
- Communicate findings, improvement opportunities and next steps clearly to relevant stakeholders.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

- RCM is a multifunctional team activity consists of Equipment Engineers, Supervisors and Maintenance technicians (mechanical, electrical and instrument disciplines) to participate in it.
- Also, for those who are in operations would like to acquire an understanding of how the quality of the maintenance activities affects their equipment function.
