COURSE INTRODUCTION
In a typical manufacturing plant, there is Management pressure to reduce energy cost as this is becoming critical to the business bottom line. The cost of Natural gas and other fossil fuels have significantly increased due to the subsidy reduction program, leading to a higher unbudgeted cost of production.

When a typical manufacturing plant total energy consumption is analysed, invariably it is found that thermal energy will consume more than 50% of the total site energy bill. It follows then that there exists scope to optimise or upgrade those systems which will directly result in reduced thermal energy consumption. It is important that the relevant technical workforce is equipped with the right knowledge, technical foundation and insights on how this optimisation can be achieved.

COURSE OUTCOMES

At the end of the 2-day session, participants will be able to:

  • Be aware of the under-lying principles of thermal systems

  • Understand relevant theory of heat transfer and technologies

  • Acquire important insights on optimisation and improvements
