COURSE INTRODUCTION
This three-day Essential AutoCAD Workshop introduces the core tools used to create accurate 2D drawings. Participants begin with the user interface, commands and Cartesian workspace, then progress through drawing, editing, precision controls, layers, reusable blocks, layouts, text, hatching, dimensions and printing. Practical mechanical, architectural, schematic and landscape exercises reinforce each stage of the workflow.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Participants will learn to:
- Navigate the AutoCAD workspace and use core commands confidently.
- Create and edit 2D geometry using precision drawing tools.
- Organise drawing objects using layers and object properties.
- Create and reuse blocks, including dynamic blocks.
- Prepare layouts and drawings for printing.
- Add text, tables, hatching and dimensions to complete technical drawings.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Engineers, technicians, designers, drafters, project personnel and other users who need practical foundation-level skills in AutoCAD. Basic knowledge of design or drafting terminology and familiarity with the computer operating system are helpful.
