DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF WATER RETAINING STRUCTURES & WATERPROOFING PROTECTION OF BASEMENT AND UNDERGROUND STRUCTURES
26 - 27 NOVEMBER 2026
COURSE INTRODUCTION
This practical programme gives participants a structured, workplace-focused understanding of Design and Construction of Water Retaining Structures & Waterproofing Protection. Key areas include Introduction of Eurocodes ECO, EC1 & EC2, Concrete Structures for Water Retaining/Containment, and Design Codes, with emphasis on practical understanding, workplace application and confident decision-making. The programme connects key concepts with practical examples that participants can apply in their own workplace.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this programme, participants should be able to:
- Explain the core concepts, terminology and working principles related to Design and Construction of Water Retaining Structures & Waterproofing Protection.
- Apply structured methods and industry good practices for Introduction of Eurocodes ECO, EC1 & EC2, Concrete Structures for Water Retaining/Containment, and Design Codes.
- Evaluate relevant general technical training situations and identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Translate the learning into practical workplace actions and sound technical decisions.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is suitable for practicing civil and structural engineers, young engineers in their formative years, engineering students and academics who wish to enhance their knowledge and understanding on the design and construction of mega water retaining and basement structures.
