COURSE INTRODUCTION
This programme develops the practical planning and scheduling capability expected of a project planning professional. Participants work through planning fundamentals and Primavera P6 applications, including project setup, work breakdown structures, activities, resources, baselines, progress monitoring and reporting, while preparing for the programme's theory and practical assessments. Practical examples and guided discussion help participants connect the subject to decisions and challenges in their own workplace.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this programme, participants should be able to:
- Explain the core concepts, terminology and working principles related to Certified Planning Engineer - P6 Planner.
- Apply structured methods and industry good practices for Planning fundamentals and the role of the planning engineer, Primavera P6 project setup, calendars and preferences, and Work breakdown structures, activities and schedule logic.
- Evaluate relevant project management situations and identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Translate the learning into practical workplace actions and sound technical decisions.
COURSE OUTCOME
Upon completion, participants will be better prepared to:
- Assess relevant workplace situations using the concepts and methods covered in Certified Planning Engineer - P6 Planner.
- Select and apply appropriate tools, checks or controls for Planning fundamentals and the role of the planning engineer, Primavera P6 project setup, calendars and preferences, and Work breakdown structures, activities and schedule logic.
- Recommend actions that support stronger planning, project control, communication and delivery decisions.
- Communicate findings, improvement opportunities and next steps clearly to relevant stakeholders.

- COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATES
- Delegates must meet the following criteria to be eligible to become CPETM:
- Attendance - delegates must attend all sessions of the course (36 contact hours). Delegates who miss more than two hours of the course sessions will not be eligible to sit the course exam
- Successful completion of the course assessment. After successfully passing the exam the Certificates will be prepared by the AAPM and will be sent to the local chapter.
