COURSE INTRODUCTION
This practical programme gives maintenance personnel a clear understanding of how comfort and process air-conditioning systems remove heat, control humidity and maintain reliable operating conditions. Participants connect refrigeration principles with cooling towers, chilled-water circuits, pumps, controls, water treatment and routine maintenance so they can recognise performance problems earlier and support more dependable system operation.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this programme, participants should be able to:
- Explain how the refrigeration, chilled-water, airside, heat-rejection and control loops work together.
- Interpret the vapour-compression refrigeration cycle and key pressure-temperature relationships.
- Identify the functions and maintenance needs of compressors, condensers and evaporators.
- Evaluate cooling-tower condition, water-treatment requirements and heat-rejection performance.
- Recognise common installation and operating conditions that reduce cooling efficiency.
- Use superheat, subcooling and operating data to troubleshoot basic air-conditioning faults.
