Course Introduction:

Automation and technical advancement have produced best technological machines where human

dependence and interference have been greatly reduced. This advancement has also reduced the

maintainability of components to ‘discard maintenance’ level only. Most electrical or electronic

components cannot be ‘pm’ or repaired as these failure patterns falls under random failure. Most

mechanical parts too, are designed for reliability and thus require replacement at specific time frame.

New maintenance techniques such as predictive maintenance, reliability centred maintenance have

enhanced life span detectability. With all this advancement, having the right part at the right time, in the right quantity makes it very critical for achieving PQCDSM. Therefore, purchasing, stocking and controlling spare parts become an ultimate necessary for continuous non-stop operation.

Through this program, Participants will acquire:

  • Fundamental knowledge regarding the spares.

  • Why, how and when to stock spares.

  • Spare parts stocking terminology.

  • Step by step setting an inventory control system.

  • Review and take counter measure for frequently used parts.

  • Justifying the ROI for spare parts expenditure.

  • Sneak preview of computerized maintenance management system.

Who Should Attend :

  • Store room controllers, spare parts buyers, maintenance supervisors,

  • All maintenance people who are involved in spare management.

Course Outline :

Module 1: Introduction to spare parts management.
Module 2: Spare parts Management Logistics
Module 3: Spare Parts Inventory Management
Module 4: Establishing spare parts criticalities
Module 5: “Spare Part Usage” cost reduction
Module 6: Computerised spare parts management

Course Overview

Where traditional maintenance management programs rely on routine servicing of all machinery and fast response to unexpected failures, a predictive maintenance program schedules specific maintenance tasks as they are actually preventing and extending equipment life usefulness.

To understand a predictive maintenance management program, traditional management techniques should first be considered in order to understand machine failures

When a machine breaks down, fix it. The “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” method of maintaining plant machinery has been a major part of plant maintenance operations.

Course Objectives

  • To provide the insight of why equipment breakdown

  • To understand the real objective of maintenance

  • Define why equipment deteriorate

  • How to use the time base schedule maintenance

  • How to use the condition base predictive maintenance

  • Strategize for zero unplanned equipment failures

Course Benefits

  • Participant will be exposed how to approach the zero-breakdown strategy

  • Gained proper strategy to achieve zero failure

  • Increase the productive, reduce the breakdown

Who Should Attend

  • Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Production, Process,

  • Managers, Executives, Engineers

  • Supervisors, Technicians and anyone who would like to improve their knowledge in Maintenance.

Also, for those who are in operations would like to acquire an understanding of how the quality of the maintenance activities affects their equipment functions if wrong type of elements used.

Course Content

Module 1: Objectives of Equipment Maintenance
Module 2: Types of Maintenance Strategies
Module 3: Maintain Basic Equipment Condition
Module 4: Systematic Preventive Maintenance
Module 5: Step by Step Implementing Schedule Maintenance
Module 6: Predictive Maintenance
Module 7: Predictive Maintenance Technique
