COURSE INTRODUCTION
Participants will explore the critical role of biological processes and microbial activity in the treatment of industrial effluents. As industries continue to expand, the need for effective and sustainable wastewater treatment solutions becomes increasingly vital. This course delves into the science behind using microorganisms to degrade pollutants and treat wastewater, offering a comprehensive understanding of both conventional and advanced biological treatment methods.
By the end of the course, participants will be capable of relating to these processes in practical contexts. This heightened understanding will enable them to conduct root cause analyses, particularly in addressing upset conditions, thereby facilitating compliance with effluent standards.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this programme, participants should be able to:
- Explain the core concepts, terminology and working principles related to Biological Process and Microbes in Industrial Effluent Treatment System.
- Apply structured methods and industry good practices for Introduction of Industrial Treatment System & Compliance of DOE, Types and Community of microbes in Activated Sludge Process, and Control Measures - Case Studies (Workshop).
- Evaluate relevant environmental, safety & compliance situations and identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Translate the learning into practical workplace actions and sound technical decisions.
COURSE OUTCOME
Upon completion, participants will be better prepared to:
- Assess relevant workplace situations using the concepts and methods covered in Biological Process and Microbes in Industrial Effluent Treatment System.
- Select and apply appropriate tools, checks or controls for Introduction of Industrial Treatment System & Compliance of DOE, Types and Community of microbes in Activated Sludge Process, and Control Measures - Case Studies (Workshop).
- Recommend actions that support regulatory compliance, operational control and environmental performance.
- Communicate findings, improvement opportunities and next steps clearly to relevant stakeholders.
